Ray Mandulo is a dedicated sport development practitioner and academic who uses sport, recreation, and exercise science as tools for social change, youth development, and community well-being.


Currently a PhD candidate at the University of the Western Cape, Ray builds on a strong research foundation established during his Master’s studies from the University of Stellenbosch. His work explores the intersection of sport, recreation, and exercise science, with a particular focus on uplifting underserved communities across the province.


Rooted in service, Ray is passionate about creating access and opportunity through sport. From supporting school and grassroots programmes to developing inclusive recreation initiatives and working closely with communities, he is driven by a vision of a healthier, stronger, and more empowered society.


With years of experience in sport development, programme implementation, and community engagement, Ray continues to dedicate his work to ensuring that sport is not just a game, but a powerful vehicle for transformation.
